One of the biggest problems facing childminders appears to be paperwork relating to the EYFS. Many solutions are put forward, but thousands of early years practitioners find Trackers to be the best. Here is a system that will make your life a lot easier – and remove those paperwork headaches.

How does it work?

Trackers Plus is a book (120 pages). It is divided into the Areas of Learning. Under each Area of Learning are the Development Matters statements. As you know, many of those statements are quite vague, so alongside each statement we give you some examples and tips to help you make sense of them ... and thus help you keep an ongoing record of children's progress. You need one book per child and there is plenty of space to record details, keep dates etc in each section.

Probably the best way of describing Trackers Plus is simply to show some sample pages and a 'how to use Trackers Plus' page from the book.

So here are some sample pages from a few of the Areas of Learning (if you are unable to read the attached file, please click on http://www.adobe.co.uk where you will be transferred to the Adobe Acrobat website.  This will allow you to download Adobe Acrobat Reader free of charge).

This is what childminders and nursery staff have been saying about Trackers Plus

Wow!!!! Love these ... they are so to the point. Well set out and I love how it gives examples of evidence to look out for. The prompting of how to follow on with activities or the support that will be given when planning new or extended activities is something that I have been asking the team to do. Planning and evaluating all in one for each child… great. I think that this will prompt each member of the team to be thinking about each child’s abilities and to plan for each individual’s needs.

I really like this assessment book. I think they are really straight forward e.g. date witnessed, evidence, and examples. The examples of what the staff witness are great. They will help staff with how to make an appropriate assessment in their trackers too. This fits in with the training we have been giving – trying to condense the comments for evidence. Brilliant, thank you.

I really like the new version and know early years advisors will love it.
