Briefly
In the introductory sections, a number of sample activities have
been prepared to help individuals or groups get to grips with
using the manuals. The exercises provide valuable information in
understanding how the Framework really works and how to plan
meaningful activities for the children in your care. The
exercises have been tried and tested in many nursery settings
and we feel confident that, because of their very simplicity,
childcare staff will find them invaluable.
There
are sample activity sheets illustrating ways of applying each
individual Focus of Development. At the end of each section
there are blank activity sheets for you to copy and make up your
own activities. In the introductory section you are shown how to
complete your own activity sheets and slot them into your
planning. This means that there is no need to read slavishly
through the entire manual, simply select the Area of Learning
that you will be working with and focus on applying the
framework to a child.
